Ahlul Bayt News Agency (ABNA.ir), A bomb explosion has rocked the Iraqi capital Baghdad, killing at least five people and injuring 18 others, police officials said.
The bomb blew off a vehicle near an army checkpoint in Ghazaliya district in western Baghdad on Friday.
Three of the dead are from Iraqi army officers. Out of the 18 wounded, at least two were army personnel, Reuters reported.
The attack follows a string of deadly bombings targeting Muslim pilgrims in Baghdad, which killed about 60 people over the past days.
Terror attacks were stepped up in the city over the past days, as thousands of Shia pilgrims marked the martyrdom anniversary of Imam Moussa al-Kadhim, the seventh of the Shia Imams, by taking part in the annual procession held at his Kadhimiya shrine in Baghdad.
